Our Products

Eggs

Our laying hens are fed certified organic and non-GMO feed to supplement the nutrition they get from foraging the pasture grasses and insects.  We provide our chickens shelter and nesting area in a mobile coop which is rotated through the pasture.   We follow the rotational grazing model of regenerative agriculture where our sheep and goats graze the pasture and the hens follow.  This rotation allows us to manage the grass and gently fertilize the soil while adding organic matter to the land.  Many studies have shown that hens raised on pasture produce eggs that are higher in vitamins and minerals including more Omega-3 Fatty Acids, Beta-carotene and less saturated fats.  You can find more detailed information and published research here.

Turkeys

Our turkeys are fed certified organic and non-GMO feed to supplement the nutrition they get from foraging the pasture grasses and insects. Each summer we raise turkeys on pasture that are ready by fall for the holidays.  If you are interested in purchasing a turkey, we request deposits of $10 before July 1st to reserve your bird.  We will do our best to accommodate the finished weight and size that you request.  Hens generally weigh in at 16-18 pounds and Toms 20-25 pounds.  We slaughter and process all of our birds ourselves, on the farm, under federal exemption PL 90-492.

Chicken

We feed our broiler chickens a certified organic and non-GMO grain ration to supplement the nutrition they find foraging on grass and insects in the field.  Our Cornish Cross Broiler chicks are sourced from Metzer Farms in Gonzalez, CA, we have worked to find a quality hatchery that is also as close to us as possible and are pleased with the hearty and active nature of these chicks. Our chicks spend up to three weeks in the brooder until they have feathered out enough to go out on pasture in our version of a chicken tractor.  The tractors provide each bird with ample space, access to sunshine and are moved daily to fresh grass. Studies have shown that pasture raised protein is significantly higher in nutrients and minerals than commercially factory raised chicken while also being lower in saturated fats.  You can find more detailed information and published research here.  We slaughter and process all of our birds ourselves, on the farm, under federal exemption PL 90-492.

Veggies

We are excited to be starting vegetable production on our farm for the 2020 growing season.  Over the winter we have installed high tunnels on our property, and we’ll be learning how to produce nutrient dense fresh vegetables.  Look for our new products at Farmers Markets this summer and stay tuned for updates!
